We worked with Picturehouse Cinemas on a Film Hub Scotland funded project aimed at 18 – 25 year old LGBTQ+ people which kicked off during Pride Edinburgh at The Cameo cinema in 2018.
The aim of the pilot project was to showcase LGBTQ+ film, and engage a group of young, passionate LGBTQ+ cineastes to meet regularly to discuss films they’ve seen, explore the themes raised and contribute to the selection of films to be screened at the cinema in the future. It was hoped that the group would continue to meet beyond the project and help curate a regular strand of LGBTQ+ films.
‘Out At The Cameo’ was supported by Film Hub Scotland, part of the BFI’s Film Audience Network. Film Hub Scotland is funded by BFI and Creative Scotland and led by Glasgow Film.
Please see The Bigger Picture for more information about how the project went, including learning outcomes, impact and testimonials from those involved.
